Typhoon Mawar, the second typhoon to hit the island late last weekend안전놀이터, is moving north.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the typhoon was passing through the sea about 600 kilometers southeast of Guam as of 10 a.m. today.

Currently a ‘strong’ typhoon, it is expected to develop into a ‘very strong’ typhoon on May 25 when it is located southeast of Okinawa, Japan, about 560 kilometers northwest of Guam.

The typhoon strength classification is divided into super-strong, very strong, strong, and moderate, and Typhoon Hinamno, which caused record-breaking damage in August last year, was rated ‘very strong’ with winds of 50 meters per second.

If Typhoon Mawar continues northwestward, it is likely to head toward the Philippines and China, but its path is still in flux, so keep an eye on future weather information.
