Lionel Messi has effectively ended his time at Paris Saint-Germain 메이저놀이터(PSG) by winning the French Ligue 1 title. For Messi, the 2022/2023 season will be one to remember.

PSG drew 1-1 away to Strasbourg in the 37th round of the 2022/2023 Ligue 1 at 4 a.m. ET on Aug. 28, but finished four points clear with one game remaining.

Messi drove a wedge into the title. He scored the winning goal in the 14th minute of the second half to secure the draw. He also set an unassailable record for goals in Europe’s top five leagues with 496.

He lifted the trophy this season, following the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Although he was knocked out of the UEFA Champions League (UCL) in the round of 16, the Ligue 1 title was a revelation and erased the disappointment of missing out on the biggest trophy of his soccer career, the World Cup.

With the Ligue 1 title, he now has 43 trophies to his name. He’s tied with Brazilian legend Dani Aubameyang.

Messi’s World Cup triumph also earned him a robe. In addition to being named the Best FIFA Men’s Player 2022, Messi was also named the World Cup Final’s Man of the Match and the Golden Ball of the World Cup in Qatar. The momentum carried him to the Laureus Male Athlete of the Year award, the highest honor a global athlete can receive.

Messi has his sights set on the Ballon d’Or. He’s already won the World Cup, so a Ballon d’Or is a distinct possibility. If he wins it again, he’ll take his tally to eight.
