The long and long 2022-23 season of Lee Hae-in (18, Sehwa Girls’ High School), a signboard of Korean figure skating, has all come to an end. Lee Hae-in, who overcame various difficulties at the beginning of the season with a positive mindset and set a meaningful milestone, smiled broadly and pledged to further develop his skills.
Lee Hae-in finished the 2022-23 season with the International Skating Union (ISU) Figure Skating World Team Trophy held in Tokyo, Japan on the 16th.
Lee Hae-in, who ran nonstop for about 7 months, met with News 1 recently and said brightly, “A season with many twists and turns is finally over.”
Lee Hae-in had many experiences this season. In his early years, he competed in two ISU Grands Prix series, finishing fourth in both and failing to medal. He failed to continue the upward trend that he had achieved in the previous season, where he won a silver medal at the Four Continents Championships and placed 7th at the World Championships.
However, Lee Hae-in did not hesitate. By changing the jump order of the program, he aimed for a rebound, and the choice to seek change was a great success.
Lee Hae-in won the gold medal at the Four Continents Championships for the first time in 14 years since the figure skating empress Yuna Kim. He then won a silver medal at the World Championships, becoming the first player to win a medal at the World Championships 10 years after Yuna Kim.
She then took first place in both the women’s single short program and free skating at the Team Trophy, the first Korean figure skating event she participated in, contributing greatly to Korea’s silver medals.
Lee Hae-in said, “I was very happy to join the team trophy team, which was the first Korean competition to participate in. Unlike other competitions, it was fun to have a place where I could cheer to my heart’s content. I also got to know ice dance and pair players and made meaningful memories.” He expressed his satisfaction with the team trophy that finished this season.
From Lee Hae-in’s point of view, the team trophy was a stage where he could lighten his mind a little. Lee Hae-in showed flawless acting after wearing the costume she wore during the Grand Prix series this season at the team trophy.
Lee Hae-in laughed, saying, “I changed my costume during the season, but I couldn’t get a satisfactory result wearing the costume I wore before. I didn’t want to make a costume jinx myself, so I wore it for the last tournament and it gave good results. It was a successful result.”
Lee Hae-in, who quickly regained her composure after failing to participate in the Beijing Winter Olympics last season, once again showed herself overcoming the crisis this season.
Lee Hae-in said, “I was obviously sad and upset when my participation in the Olympics last season was canceled. However, if I stay in that moment, the future will not change. I forgot the Olympic regret and immediately focused on showing a good performance next season.” I thought to myself that there were many futures that could be changed and many things that could be achieved.”
“Think and act as positively as possible. Then you will gain confidence and good things will happen,” he said. I have an eye on it,” he added.
Looking back on the 2022-23 season, Lee Hae-in, who overcame the difficult time, said, “Through this season, I learned how to rise again when a person hits the bottom and how to overcome it well.” I will be able to endure well even if difficult things come in the future.”
The reason why Lee Hae-in received a lot of attention from figure skating fans was because he held a gala show with a ‘K-pop’ song. Lee Hae-in showed acting to Brave Girls’ ‘Rolin’ last season, and Ive’s ‘Love Dive’ this season.
Lee Hae-in said, “K-pop is music I enjoy listening to on a daily basis. When I wake up in the morning, I dance to K-pop music to relax my body and wake up.” He also showed his affection for K-pop.
“Even before I act, I listen to the music of the work once and dance while listening to K-pop to raise my tension myself,” he said. “I started figure skating and at some point I started looking for idol stage videos. I learn many things 메이저놀이터while watching “,” showing a bright appearance like any other high school student.
Another hobby of Lee Hae-in is drawing, and she was of great help to him. Lee Hae-in enjoys drawing on a daily basis, such as drawing and presenting illustrations to colleagues ahead of the team trophy. He is interested enough to think about webtoon production himself.
Lee Hae-in said, “I’ve loved drawing since I was young. As a figure skater, I can’t attend an art academy, but I draw during my break time.” It becomes a hobby and a mental care method.”
Lee Hae-in, who has a little more time after finishing the season, plans to work on the webtoon work he has been preparing.
Lee Hae-in said, “I haven’t drawn on a tablet PC before, but I’m thinking of trying this for the first time.”
Lee Hae-in, who finished the 2022-23 season breathlessly, is preparing for the 2023-24 season without a break. As this season has been successfully completed, the next season has to be attended with more attention.
It may be burdensome, but Lee Hae-in expressed confidence. He said, “It didn’t work out well in the beginning because I couldn’t get my mind together after my participation in the Beijing Olympics last season was canceled. I plan to focus on improving my skills slowly and slowly ahead of the new season,” he said. “I think I will get better in the future. More effort If I focus on it, I will improve by 10% from my current skills,” he said confidently.
Lee Hae-in also set goals for himself. It is an advance to the Grand Prix Final, which he has never been able to do since entering the senior stage. The Grand Prix Final is a competition in the nature of a ‘King of the Kings’ where only the top 6 players with the best results in the Grand Prix series can compete. Kim Yu-na and Kim Ye-rim (20, Dankook University) are the only two Korean players who have participated in the women’s singles final of the Grand Prix.
Lee Hae-in said, “Next season, I want to show good form from the beginning, win a medal in the Grand Prix series, and participate in the Grand Prix Finals.” I will polish my triple axel so that I can try again.”
